The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct routine inspections of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems, to identify and address any issues or potential problems.
· Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as repairing leaks, replacing faulty equipment, and troubleshooting electrical issues.
· Respond promptly to maintenance requests, addressing issues in a timely and efficient manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
· Conduct preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules, including lubricating equipment, replacing filters, and inspecting building systems for signs of wear and tear.
· Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment maintenance logs.
· Monitor building systems and equipment for efficiency and performance, recommending improvements or upgrades as needed to enhance reliability and energy efficiency.
· Assist with building renovations and upgrades, coordinating with contractors and vendors as necessary to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
· Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that maintenance tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
· Comply with all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and always following safe work practices.
· Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and best practices in building maintenance.
