Facility Maintenance Technician jobs in New Iberia, LA
The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Duties and Responsibilities
- Work in a fun, trusting environment focused on great customer service
- Perform work to include the installation, inspection, repairs and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fuel dispensers, mechanical equipment, boiler systems and environmental control systems in all departments
- Perform general repairs such as painting/caulking, patching walls, security hardware, roof repairs, pavement repairs, tile and floor repairs, hanging shelves, facility lighting and landscaping
- Perform light porter duties; moping, cleaning of restrooms and showers
- Coordinate the work of outside contractors to ensure scope of work is being performed correctly; Inspect work for completeness
- As directed by management, coordinate, assign and inspect work for completeness of porters
- Maintain appropriate inventory of material, equipment and supplies
- Possess a current and valid motor vehicle operator's license
