The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Summary:
Works in Maintenance Department and performs repairs and maintenance of all plant machinery and facilities to include: Die Cast Machines, hydraulic systems, minor electrical work within LME guidelines, furnaces, walkways, platforms, plumbing (air, gas, water, and lube), evaporators, sumps, storm water containment systems and drains, roof fans, cooling fans and storage areas.
**Shift: **
Day shift Monday to Friday 7AM-3:30PM with some periodic overtime.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs installation, troubleshooting and repairs of plant machinery.
Perform routine inspections and minor repairs of all material handling equipment.
Performs Die cast foundry lubrication and inspections per PM program requirements.
Perform repair and new installations and other general improvement projects.
Perform Plant crane inspections per PM program requirements.
Assemble, install and program mechanical, electro-mechanical and automated machinery and systems such as production machinery / tools, storage racks and robots.
Light fabrication and repairs to platforms, furnace launder supports, catwalks, etc.
Perform plant rigging and installation of equipment.
Perform preventative and predictive maintenance activities as specified.
Maintain storage and work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Small motor, pump and misc. equipment repair.
