The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. The Facility Maintenance Technician is a key member of the team primarily responsible for performing repairs and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical equipment, boiler systems and environmental control systems in all departments of the location. The Maintenance Technician ensures a safe environment for our customers so that we are returning every traveler to the road better than they came!

    In this role, you can expect to:

    • Work in a fun, trusting environment focused on great customer service
    • Perform installations, inspections, repairs and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical equipment, boiler systems and environmental control systems in all departments of the location
    • Do general repairs such as paining/caulking, patching walls, security hardware, roof repairs, pavement repairs, tile and floor repairs, hanging shelves, facility lighting and landscaping
    • Coordinate the work of outside contractors to ensure scope of work is being performed correctly
    • Maintain appropriate inventory of material, equipment and supplies
    • Coordinate, assign, and inspect work for completeness of porters and housekeeping staff
    • Perform other job related duties as assigned

    • Demonstrated ability in general maintenance or other maintenance responsibilities

    • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and some holidays

    Pay Range

    Typical Physical Demands

    In this role, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear.  Standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending over, crouching, crawling, climbing, and repetitive use of legs are done occasionally. The team member is occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs and/or move heavy objects.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.     Work Environment

    While performing these duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outdoor elements in all seasons. Occasionally, the employee will also be exposed to fumes and particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. While performing these duties, the employee may be exposed to dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, high-concentrated cleaning solutions, etc.
