Facility Maintenance Technician jobs in Florida
The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. - Ability to work independently or with a team to service work orders at various client locations within regions of Florida.
- Perform a variety of Facility Maintenance repair & construction jobs including but not limited to basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC troubleshooting and servicing and drywall.
- Ability to read blueprints, plan layouts, and complete scopes of work according to job specifications and code requirements.
- Must be able to complete the scope of work according to industry quality standards and within expected time frames.
- Strong Time and Job Management. Must have the ability to manage and service a job from start to finish, including working within the company software system to document all details of the job for project management purposes and billing.
- Must have strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills and the ability to accurately complete a service call within the industry standard timeframe.
- Excellent attendance, dependability, and reliability are essential.
- Document daily activity electronically and upload before and after photos of the job.
- Keep a clean and safe workplace.
- Valid driver’s license with no major infractions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the company’s clients, its management team, and other field employees.
- Must be able to perform general physical activities common to construction (i.e.climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials).
- Must be able to operate the company service trucks and other equipment safely.
