Facilities Resource Group seeks local Plumbing Apprentice - National Travel w/ Per Diem

Facilities Resource Group is located in Comstock Park, Michigan. We are a leading provider in single-source, turnkey plumbing solutions for nationwide clients in the commercial sector. We are seeking a Pipefitter, Plumbing Apprentice or Plumber Helper to work under the guidance of our Lead Plumber onsite, performing installations.

Required: Must measure, cut, layout, setup, fit, join, thread Copper, PVC &Gas to 2". MUST read tape measure to 1/16" and subtract fractions of different denominations.

JOB DETAILS:

• PAY: $20 - $25 / Hour Overtime HOTEL PER DIEM ( truck cell )
• TRAVEL: Ground travel - up to 75% (on the road - project timelines vary)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Safe transportation of equipment while meeting compliance, and the preparation and clean-up of plumbing installation jobsites.

Operates fleet truck under DOT requirements (class B / Chauffeur license and DOT medical card) , hauls trailer containing tankless water heating systems. You will load up at the shop, drive the vehicle for long periods of time in a stationary seated position, and operate an electronic DOT logbook (GEOTAB).

You will transport the equipment and tools to the site of work, which could be anywhere in the US. You will meet the lead and get an overview of the project coordination plan. When not driving, the work will be in mixed environments, and is mostly standing, sometimes indoors and sometimes outdoors. A limited amount of work may be performed at low heights such as from a ladder.

When the job starts (in the evening, after hours), you'll remove old existing fixtures and components, and start preparing the new components. You will be running parts and tools, and be cutting, fitting and insulating copper, PVC and gas piping from 1/4" - 3" (mostly 1/2" - 2" copper). Once the job is complete, you will load out and return vehicle to shop.

In-shop work will consist of loading and unloading, doing scrap, or building the equipment you install in accordance with production needs. Other work may include cutting or measuring pipe or general duties.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent, 21 or older & legally authorized to work in US;
• 2-3 Years of Experience: Measuring, laying out, fitting & joining pipe or plumbing (will consider those with combined related commercial construction experience);
• Completion of background check including driving record, DOT physical and drug screen for medical card and Class B Chauffeur license (FRG will handle the costs)

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• MUST be able to easily read and interpret tape measure to 1/16";
• MUST have experience in pipe fitting or plumbing, including joining materials;
• MUST be able to remain stationary in transit for long shift periods (on the road);
• MUST be able to safely operate a commercial fleet vehicle;
• MUST be able to lift up to 50 lb occasionally and up to 75 lb infrequently during shifts;
• MUST have full range of motion to be able to work in any manner of physical positions and be able to transition easily from seated to standing, crouching, stooping, leaning, bending, twisting, and/or working while looking up, with arms extended overhead, sometimes for longer periods of time;

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• A large portion of work time is operating the vehicle per safety and road conditions;
• Site work time is both indoor and outdoor work, often traversing between the two;
• Works in the shop doing production tasks when not traveling
