Facilities Resource Group is located in Comstock Park, Michigan. We are a leading provider in single-source, turnkey plumbing solutions for nationwide clients in the commercial sector. We are seeking a Pipefitter, Plumbing Apprentice or Plumber Helper to work under the guidance of our Lead Plumber onsite, performing installations.
Required: Must measure, cut, layout, setup, fit, join, thread Copper, PVC &Gas to 2". MUST read tape measure to 1/16" and subtract fractions of different denominations.
JOB DETAILS:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Safe transportation of equipment while meeting compliance, and the preparation and clean-up of plumbing installation jobsites.
Operates fleet truck under DOT requirements (class B / Chauffeur license and DOT medical card) , hauls trailer containing tankless water heating systems. You will load up at the shop, drive the vehicle for long periods of time in a stationary seated position, and operate an electronic DOT logbook (GEOTAB).
You will transport the equipment and tools to the site of work, which could be anywhere in the US. You will meet the lead and get an overview of the project coordination plan. When not driving, the work will be in mixed environments, and is mostly standing, sometimes indoors and sometimes outdoors. A limited amount of work may be performed at low heights such as from a ladder.
When the job starts (in the evening, after hours), you'll remove old existing fixtures and components, and start preparing the new components. You will be running parts and tools, and be cutting, fitting and insulating copper, PVC and gas piping from 1/4" - 3" (mostly 1/2" - 2" copper). Once the job is complete, you will load out and return vehicle to shop.
In-shop work will consist of loading and unloading, doing scrap, or building the equipment you install in accordance with production needs. Other work may include cutting or measuring pipe or general duties.
