FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds, and facilities systems. Oversees staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management. Being a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion. Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, painting, or carpentry projects. Additionally, FACILITIES SUPERVISOR maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws. May coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • Ferrous Processing and Trading (FPT) is one of North America's premier processors, buyers, sellers, and recyclers of scrap metals and is a crucial supplier to the metals industry. FPT, a wholly owned business of Cleveland-Cliffs, has an immediate opportunity for a Facilities Supervisor at its Sterling Heights, MI, location. The Facilities Supervisor must be self-driven, follow instructions well, and be a team player. The Facilities Supervisor must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed. Daily work includes manual labor in an industrial setting, including working in the elements (outside) around heavy equipment and inside industrial locations.

    Summary of Responsibilities:

    • Provide supervision and direction to UAW crane and skilled trades personnel.
    • Act as a customer/client liaison.
    • Submit reports as directed by the assistant manager.
    • Make recommendations on equipment repairs and equipment maintenance.
    • Schedule maintenance repairs on designated shifts.
    • Receive and stow materials and supplies received.
    • Conduct site inspections.
    • Clean areas of loose scrap metals, oil, and other materials.
    • Move loaded and unload railroad cars with small locomotives.
    • Perform preventive maintenance on some equipment.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma/GED
    • Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math.
    • Experience operating mobile equipment preferred.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to maintain accurate records.
    • Ability to follow oral and written communication.
    • Must have basic troubleshooting skills
    • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office
    • Pre-employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required
