FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds, and facilities systems. Oversees staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management. Being a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion. Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, painting, or carpentry projects. Additionally, FACILITIES SUPERVISOR maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws. May coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: Provides janitorial services, room set-up, and general maintenance of The Salvation Army RJKCCC main building, surrounding grounds and other on-site buildings. Paints and performs routine maintenance throughout the buildings and grounds. Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Opening and closing of facility.

    2. Respond to fire alarms, chemical spills and / or hazardous materials management.

    3. Clean all areas – Dusting, emptying trash, basic floor care: sweep, mop and buff floors and vacuum / clean carpets and mats. Restock supplies. Recycle paper, boxes and aluminum cans.

    4. Maintain equipment and performs routine maintenance and repairs throughout the building and grounds. Assist with installing and repairing building displays and fixtures.

    5. Assist Facilities Manager with the completion of daily cleaning, water and air quality control, and preventative maintenance for the pool, features and equipment related to the indoor waterpark area. Provide safety and hygiene recommendations to the Director of Business Operations and Administrators/Corps Officers for potential pool closures, as determined by certified pool operator guidelines and as directed by the Facilities Manager.

    6. Maintain outside grounds, including picking up litter, mowing, watering, trimming, raking and spraying, as well as caring for trees, shrubs and flowers. Participates in snow and ice removal as necessary.

    7. Responsible for pick up and unloading of approved donations and deliveries.

    8. Report maintenance concerns (work order requests) to appropriate personnel and respond to maintenance requests, as assigned by supervisor.

    9. Provide excellent, prompt and courteous services for guests, members and perspective members of the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center. Engage with participants to maximize positive guest and member experience.

    10. Adhere to Kroc Center operations as well as all policies and procedures; observe, explain and enforce all safety rules and regulations. Maintain a safe working environment for all employees, guests and members of RJKCCC.

    11. Participate in training opportunities to gain a thorough understanding of safety, equipment and supplies, and computer systems; maintain and secure equipment in compliance with acceptable standards to ensure the long life of equipment.

    12. Keep and maintain all public and restricted areas in a neat and clean fashion.

    13. Set-up for parties, facility rentals and/or special events, as scheduled; ensure areas are cleaned and equipment is restocked after facility use.

    14. Protect The Salvation Army interests by observing and preventing potentials for liabilities due to injuries; ensures the safety of all guests and participants. Prepare legible and accurate incident reports in the event of accidents or injuries.

    15. Ensure guest safety-immediately rectifying and/or reporting any potentially unsafe conditions, reporting problem areas to the Facilities Manager and Manager on Duty.

    16. Attend all scheduled staff meetings.

    17. Perform other assignments/duties as directed.

    18. Be sensitive to the spiritual needs of people and offer to refer them to the Corps Officers and/or another spiritual leader at the Kroc Center.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilities Associates may be called upon to supervise custodial staff, and community service workers, or volunteers assigned to work with Facilities.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE. • Must be at least 18 years old; • Works well with others; • Must be able to lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. This is considered a medium lifting required position. • Must be able to walk, stand, stoop, climb, reach, and bend; • Dependable and able to work independently; • Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving.

    SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS. • Must maintain certification as a Certified Pool Operator, as required by the Health Department, and/or the Kroc Center; • Must display an understanding of and support of the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army, and understand the importance of flexibility in relation to this position and accomplishing the mission; • Must have a valid driver’s license and approved to drive a Salvation Army vehicle. • Must have a working knowledge of and abide by the Kroc Center Code of Conduct & Policies; • Must adhere to employee guidelines set forth by The Salvation Army USA Eastern Territory, NEOSA Division and the Kroc Center; • Must have basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, e-mail, calendars; • Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army; • Ability to maintain records and reports in an accurate and complete manner; • Ability to build and maintain effective and professional working relationships with Salvation Army officers, employees, partnership agency staff, volunteers and the community; • Maintain updated safety trainings required by and as assigned by The Salvation Army and in compliance with OSHA; • Maintain updated KeepSAFE child and vulnerable persons safety training; • Must complete a “Webcheck” fingerprint background check, the expense of which will be reimbursed by the Kroc Center after 90 days.
