FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds, and facilities systems. Oversees staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management. Being a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion. Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, painting, or carpentry projects. Additionally, FACILITIES SUPERVISOR maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws. May coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Under the direction of the department manager, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department and employee performance. Exercises discretionary judgment in solving problems and working with employees. Uses working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws, techniques, procedures, and general principles and practices to ensure proper operation of equipment for the patients, employees, visitors, and physicians within the boundaries of Legacy Health.
Education:
High School diploma or the equivalent required; Engineering degree or the equivalent experience preferred.
Experience:
Hospital engineering experience preferred.
Minimum three years facilities maintenance experience preferred; prior supervisory experience preferred.
Skills:
Working knowledge of applicable regulations, laws and techniques (i.e., knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, grounds maintenance and related building trades) required.
Solid interpersonal relations and verbal/written communication skills.
Knowledge of computers and appropriate software programs required.
Demonstrated comprehension of and use of proper ergonomics.
Ability to plan, develop and facilitate training/in-service modules in an effective manner.
Ability to work in a self-directed manner.
