The Facilities Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     ABOUT THIS ROLE

    The Production Planner is responsible for all aspects of finished product demand planning, stock replenishment, and manufacturing scheduling at Wawona Frozen Foods. This includes ownership and improvement of related processes including product stock levels at the facility, material requirement planning, product sequencing in the manufacturing process and management of rework processing. The Production Planner works closely with the Customer Service team to ensure product is available for MTO items. The Production Planner is responsible for recording production variances, scheduling make-up runs and managing production orders. In the role, the Production Planner will work collaboratively with the plant manufacturing team and other internal groups to contribute to continuous improvement projects. An ideal candidate is a highly collaborative individual with a bias for action and approaches problem solving/decisions with a data-driven mindset. Candidate will use ERP, automation, and PowerBI systems to strategically forecast, plan, order, measure and optimize production planning processes.


    DUTIES INCLUDE

    • Active participation in Wawona Frozen Foods' safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environment.
    • Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.
    • Compliance with all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures. Empowered to notify and/or act in response to any issues or concerns within the scope of work.
    • Demand planning of finished products
    • Stock level replenishment and calibration at plants
    • Scheduling manufacturing in accordance with internal quality and regulatory standards
    • Optimization of schedules to meet or exceed service metrics, plant targets and manufacturing efficiency.
    • Material requirement planning and shortage identification.
    • Communication of material shortages to internal teams
    • Manage non-inventory packaging materials.
    • Tracks and reports on all production activities. Generates reports to analyze with Production teams, keeps updates with deadlines of all activities to improve production goals.
    • Track production schedules and monitors contracts.
    • Assists Production with updates of Labor standards and machine settings as needed.
    • Has a good understanding of costing and cost controls.
    • Maintains contact with Co-packers to meet their production needs. Generates reports back to Co-packers after production runs.
    • Actively participate in operations, scheduling, and planning meetings.
    • Manage production orders
    • Manage rework of held product
    • Monitor production variance to schedule and work with C/S and Production Managers to remediate shortages
    • Work cross-functionally to optimize production throughput


    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or related field
    • Minimum 3 years of supply chain experience with emphasis in inventory management, analysis and material requirement planning processes.
    • Strong and proven knowledge of PowerBI automation, forecasting, and planning software's to develop lookaheads and schedules.
    • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Outlook, Project, and Power BI. (advanced excel skills with ability to use macros and formulas)
    • Working knowledge of ERP system especially Microsoft Dynamics Nav/Business Central
    • Dependable, great attitude, highly motivated, self-starter, proactive thinker, team player and strong work ethic
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload involving multiple tasks with competing priorities, responsibilities and tight deadlines with follow-through and minimal supervision.

    PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

    • Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise and in cold temperatures.
    • Stand and walk, feel, reach with hands and arms. Occasionally requested to sit and talk or hear.
    • A fast-paced environment that requires high attention to details and minimal down time.
    • Occasional lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as equipment, machinery, etc. Lifting requirement: Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. independently.
    • Other duties as assigned requiring repetitive tasks, use of computer equipment, scheduling, preparing reports, etc. utilizing a computer.
    • Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team, customers, and deadlines.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and ability to see all colors.
    • You will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration. Exposure to cleaning products and agents for the sanitation of equipment and machinery regularly.
    • Wear appropriate personal protection equipment and adhere to dress code as outlined for working in a food manufacturing facility.
