Facilities Planner plans building or refurbishment projects focused on effectively utilizing spaces and resources to support the organization's physical facility and space needs. Conducts evaluations of current facilities to assess short-term and long-term space needs and produce feasibility studies. Being a Facilities Planner prepares and reviews designs, layout plans, specifications, and standards that comply with building regulations, industry best practices, and organizational requirements. Estimates costs for labor, materials, and services. Additionally, Facilities Planner generates, monitors, and updates project plans and timelines with task details, deliverables, and status updates. Coordinates construction and installation processes and expedites delivery of materials required by projects. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Facilities Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Reports To: Master Scheduler


    SUMMARY:

    The Planner I will have a thorough understanding of efficient scheduling processes and production workflow. Under the direction of the Master Scheduler, the Planner I will develop production schedules for assembly operations. The Planner I will lead the Sales Orders Meetings for the assigned product lines to forecast expected revenue, identify operational or supply chain hurdles, and collaborate to find solutions. Conducting material requirements planning (MRP), the Planner I must ensure a controlled flow for the assembly process and availability of all resources required to meet customer and production requirements. The Planning Department is a vital team in driving the company towards its Vision and Mission while adhering to the Company’s Core Values of Excellence in Customer Service, Ownership, Accountability, Continuous Improvement and Adaptability.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


    Job Core Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for developing assembly schedules for assigned product lines in alignment with material and resources availability, inventory operations and fabrication production schedule.
    • Responsible for the Planning/Assembly POD communication. The Planner I must work closely with assembly line supervisors to ensure that the assembly schedule is met.
    • Conducts line capacity assessments and collaborates with Operations on suggested actions
    • Oversees and coordinates production plans/schedules to ensure materials and parts are provided on a timely basis to meet scheduling requirements.
    • Maintains communications with operations management and Customer Experience Group regarding the status and progress of sales orders and jobs.
    • Facilitates the resolution of labor and material shortages, backlogs, and other existing and potential production schedule interruptions
    • Conducts advance planning for schedules based on defined critical orders
    • Provides planning input and coordination for formal proposals and quotation requests.
    • Collaborates with Purchasing Department and production management in analyzing inventory levels and usage, scrap and shrinkage and communicates current and future requirements to the procurement organization.
    • Works collaboratively with other departments to understand planning requirements and timelines that are required and works with operations and purchasing accordingly as needed.
    • Works with Project Managers and Buyers to develop timelines for delivery of required materials and finished goods
    • Communicates and escalates problems timely to internal stakeholders.
    • Facilitates process improvements and change initiatives in the department
    • Utilize MRP tools to effectively manage schedule and inventories for both raw and Work in Process
    • Improve department proficiency and capability by leading future projects to include the configuration and testing of Epicor’s Advanced Planning System.
    • Develop, track, and manage department KPIs
    • Find alternate solutions to supply chain problems by working with Engineering and Purchasing Department
    • Other duties as assigned within and/or outside of the scope of Planning.


    QUALIFICATIONS:


    BA/BS Degree

    • Demonstrated capability/experience in a strategic planning role
    • 1 year of business experience in manufacturing environment. Familiarity with working in a custom manufacturing, highly dynamic rapid paced environment.
    • Multilingual English and Spanish will be a plus
    • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in a professional manner to all levels of management
    • Ability to accurately assess key business metrics and situations

    A moderate to complex level of knowledge in:
    • Spreadsheets - Excel - writing macros, developing formulas, using functions such as pivot and lookup tables
    • Database - MS Access - multi-table queries, report generation, macros, forms
    • Power BI
    • PowerPoint
    • Word Processing - MS Word
    • MRP/ERP (Epicor/Kinetic)

    Strong prioritization skills
    • Ability to work with intermediate to senior level internal associates.
    • A moderate to complex level of financial analysis knowledge.

    • Ability to work under moderate supervision and guidance in a fast-paced environment.
