Facilities Planner plans building or refurbishment projects focused on effectively utilizing spaces and resources to support the organization's physical facility and space needs. Conducts evaluations of current facilities to assess short-term and long-term space needs and produce feasibility studies. Being a Facilities Planner prepares and reviews designs, layout plans, specifications, and standards that comply with building regulations, industry best practices, and organizational requirements. Estimates costs for labor, materials, and services. Additionally, Facilities Planner generates, monitors, and updates project plans and timelines with task details, deliverables, and status updates. Coordinates construction and installation processes and expedites delivery of materials required by projects. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Facilities Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     About the Role

    The Planner schedules and coordinates the flow of work within or between departments to facilitate or expedite production; provides support and serves as the inside liaison for customers and sales agents.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and coordinate physical movement of materials, parts, finished goods, and information to ensure optimization of cost and service level
    • Delivers continuous improvement through participation in Lean Kaizen events
    • Owner of the milestone schedule and any date changes, maintenance, or problem-solving activities regarding this schedule
    • Schedules and coordinates the flow of work within or between departments
    • Point person for customer expedites once the order has been activated both internal and external
    • Participation in process Andons and daily GEMBA's with area PTL
    • Proper handling of ECO's once product has been activated
    • Develops strong relationships and provides effective communication, prioritization, and alignment across value streams, sites, business units, and functions
    • Demonstrates capability for engaging with external business partners to provide seamless linkage of Supply Chain Processes
    • Works with purchasing to ensure material availability for all RAW and assembled goods required to meet the production schedule

    Required Qualifications

    • High-school graduate/GED
    • Preferred Two-year degree or Technical Certificate or related experience (3-5 years)
    • Leadership training

    Desired Qualifications

    • Demonstrates capabilities in material management, MRP, pull systems, flow, and the implementation of lean concepts
    • Bronze Lean Certified
    • Proficient in excel and other Microsoft Office tools
    • High attention to detail, follow up and attention to customer service
    • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills. Possess exceptional conflict resolution skills and is adept at dealing with situations involving conflict.
    • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
