Facilities Planner plans building or refurbishment projects focused on effectively utilizing spaces and resources to support the organization's physical facility and space needs. Conducts evaluations of current facilities to assess short-term and long-term space needs and produce feasibility studies. Being a Facilities Planner prepares and reviews designs, layout plans, specifications, and standards that comply with building regulations, industry best practices, and organizational requirements. Estimates costs for labor, materials, and services. Additionally, Facilities Planner generates, monitors, and updates project plans and timelines with task details, deliverables, and status updates. Coordinates construction and installation processes and expedites delivery of materials required by projects. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Facilities Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • Kalman & Company is seeking a highly motivated, performance driven individual with a strong background in project management to work closely with our United States Marine Corps (USMC) clients on facility and workspace management analyses. Successful candidates will have excellent communication, quantitative, research, and analytical skills and the ability to principally contribute to several of the largest and most significant studies in Kalman's portfolio. This position will be onsite in Stafford, VA.

As a Kalman Analyst, you will work with military leaders, engineers, developers, technicians, logisticians, and financial managers to develop strategies for facilities and workspace management in support of United States Department of Defense.

    Specific Duties

    • Manage multiple aspects of the planning, budget, renovation, and installation processes of facilities and workspace management projects. These include, but are not limited to, conference room and cubicle workspace installs, pilot project installs, maintenance and improvement projects, surveying of facility spaces in support of furniture and equipment replacement and facilitating the tear-out and refurbishment of facilities.
    • Planning, Budget, and Execution Support:
      • Prepare project and budget presentations
      • Prepare cost analysis and cost estimate reports
      • Identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities
      • Manage budget and timelines for projects
    • Project Management Support:
      • Conduct project site visits and provide meeting support at locations on and off Marine Corps Base (MCB) Quantico
      • Meet with stakeholders to understand project requirements
      • Serve as the liaison between program offices and MCB Quantico points of contact, keeping all stakeholders informed of project status
      • Conduct product and service market research to collect data and propose solutions
      • Create and update workspace plans with Microsoft Visio
      • Prepare Statement of Work (SOW) and other contract supporting documents
      • Coordinate and oversee vendors to ensure the timely delivery and installation of services/products
      • Create and update project schedules with Microsoft Project and Excel
      • Perform project oversight and prepare after-action reports
      • Provide insights to assist management in making informed decisions
      • Conduct inventory analysis and support/manage requestions for new equipment.
      • Engage with stakeholders frequently to gauge customer satisfaction, taking corrective action as needed to improve service offering
      • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports.
      • Identify discrepancies and recommend areas for improvement
      • Develop or make recommendations for standard operating procedures (SOPs)
      • Identify and assess project risk and develop/implement risk mitigation plans

    Required Education/Qualifications:

    • US Citizenship
    • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
    • Strong organizational skills and written/verbal communication skills
    • Must have Visio experience and proficiency.
    • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to lead detail-oriented tasks and multi-task under minimal supervision
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
    • A bachelor’s degree plus three years of related experience, OR an associate degree plus three years of related experience, or other equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Knowledge of budget and research processes
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

    Preferred:

    • MS Project experience is preferred.
