Being a Facilities Manager monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Manager trains supervisors and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Description:
The sr. project manager will manage projects through all phases, from inception through commissioning and start up. Focus will be on developing project scopes and execution for various types of capital projects in conjunction with operations leadership and stakeholders to support the Waterford Plant Site needs. The candidate will be accountable for front-end project scope development, alternative options generation, preparation of cost estimates and development of project execution plans. The candidate will interface, team, and collaborate with the various plant functional departments including EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety), production/operations, chemical process and mechanical reliability engineering, quality control, maintenance organization and outside contractors. The project engineer will report to the Capital Investment Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Apply sound and best practice industry engineering principles to the design and maintenance of specialty chemical plants.
• Work with internal engineering and operations teams, as well as other outside engineering firms, to develop project scopes.
• Day to day project execution through advance planning and scheduling, prioritizing, complying with safety requirements, such as permitting process and LOTO.
• Field checks and supervision ensuring quality construction and installation plant standards are followed.
• Routine reviews to track project progress and to share the status with Site Leadership.
• Ensures good communication between the cross-functional team members; fosters teamwork, motivates team, and drives towards continual improvement.
• Development and maintaining of project budgets and tracking and reporting on project spending and forecasting.
• Coordinate and manage contractors, reinforces safe working practices, procedures and required documentation in the field.
• Audits field work execution and authorizes changes to scope to support the project installation/construction.
• Maintains a safe work environment.
• Performs above mentioned responsibilities safely, ethically and in compliance with all federal and state regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Capital Investment Manager.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or similar.
• Familiarity with project engineering stage-gate workflows and recognized industry standards and practices such as those of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and Construction Industry Institute (CII).
• Working knowledge of PSM (process safety management) processes and systems.
• Work experience in a chemical processing facility and/or oil & gas industries.
• Experience with SAP project, maintenance, and purchasing transactions.
