Facilities Manager manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Manager monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Manager trains supervisors and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. We are looking for a Facilities Manager at our San Rafael, CA campus, GDB’s National Headquarters, to oversee all aspects of campus infrastructure operations including fleet operations.     What you’ll do:

    • Manage maintenance and repair work of all critical infrastructure, equipment, fleet (50 vehicles), and grounds in California and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance programs for the CA campus and remote fleet locations. Annual budgetary management responsibility of $5M.
    • Perform advanced electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry repairs as necessary
    • Manage the Facilities staff (6 full-time staff), including conducting job evaluations and measuring performance against goals and objectives, as well as hiring, training, and mentoring staff
    • Coordinate with the leadership team on long-term infrastructure planning and lead or assist with RFPs and management of capital projects
    • Oversee all aspects of security and coordinate safety needs with Safety Manager
    • Provide on-call support when after-hours emergencies or other issues arise outside of on-call staff’s expertise

    The qualifications you’ll need:

    • 5 years of experience managing maintenance functions and supervising facilities personnel
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    • Understanding of and ability to train others in concepts and techniques related to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, architectural, and space planning design
    • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently, prioritize tasks, plan workflow, coordinate projects, and resolve conflicting demands
    • Experience maintaining large fleets of vehicles, including specialized and/or custom vehicles preferred
    • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office required; Knowledge of E-Maint, HMI/HVAC, and AutoCAD software preferred
    • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
