Facilities Manager manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Manager monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Manager trains supervisors and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Facilities Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities maintenance program to ensure optimal performance of equipment and systems
    • Supervise and manage a team of technicians and contractors to ensure timely and efficient completion of maintenance tasks
    • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify any issues and implement corrective actions as required
    • Manage all aspects of electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electrical systems and equipment
    • Oversee mechanical maintenance, including HVAC systems, plumbing, and other mechanical systems
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations
    • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of equipment and supplies
    • Manage facilities budget and ensure cost-effective operations
    • Develop and implement energy conservation initiatives to reduce operating costs and environmental impact

    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
    • 3 years of experience in facilities management in the Engineering industry
    • Strong technical knowledge of facilities maintenance, electrical maintenance, and mechanical systems
    • Experience managing a team of technicians and contractors
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations
    • Strong project management skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facilities management software
