  • Ascent Resources is seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer - Advisor.  This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Oklahoma City, OK and reports to the Manager – Facilities Engineering.      
        
    The Facilities Engineering Advisor is responsible for multi-well surface facility engineering designs, project management & execution, advising/mentoring/supporting less experienced engineers, field operations, and management personnel.  This position will have an emphasis on leading our engineering efforts pertaining to the natural gas compressor program (well-head compression, gas lift compression and facilities flash gas/vapor recover compression).    
        
    Primary Duties & Responsibilities    
    • Engineering lead for natural gas compression program:  maximize production and efficient operating/CAPEX costs through optimization/management of natural gas compressor fleet on existing and new wells/facilities including gas lift, well-head, and facilities flash gas
    • Establish and maintain engineering standards, engineering designs, process models, equipment specifications, and safety reviews
    • Establish operating philosophy, engineering design basis including oil/gas/water PVTs and takeaway capacities
    • Create cost estimates for AFEs and budgeting.  Provide engineering & construction packages.  Execute projects safely while maintaining costs, quality, and schedules
    • Manage material and equipment supply chain risks through vendor selection, forecasting and delivery schedules
    • Analyze and present technical analysis on execution and cost performance
    • Keep apprised of new technologies and make recommendations for evaluation/implementation
    • Mentor junior engineering staff across all disciplines.  Provide assistance, advice, and solutions to peers, co-workers, and management personnel
        
    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities     
    Minimum Requirements:    
    • Demonstrates continual multiplication of value through application of personal knowledge, experience, and abilities across all levels and technical disciplines
    • Expert level knowledge in natural gas compression design, sizing, technologies, applications, selection, vendor management, rental agreement terms/conditions, operations, troubleshooting, maintenance, system optimization and environmental regulations
    • Well versed in multi-well surface facilities development, engineering, optimization, and troubleshooting
    • Working knowledge of production operations and artificial lift
    • Identifies and implements superior work practices, demonstrates consensus building, with the ability to drive performance of personnel outside of their immediate teams
    • Act as a subject matter expert both internal and external to the company.  Leads efforts to solve complex problems that impact multiple disciplines.
    • Devises new approaches to problems, develops criteria and standards, ensures compliance
    • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, ProMax and CAD
    • Working knowledge of ASME, GPSA, API, and other applicable engineering practices
        
    Education & Work Experience Required    
    Minimum Requirements:    
    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering
    • 12 years of experience in facilities engineering, natural gas compression and production engineering
    Preferred:    
    • Appalachian Basin experience
