Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. 3-5 years previous leadership/management experience preferred
5 years of experience in the maintenance field and the bidding process preferred
Represent KHS in a courteous and professional manner with a commitment to excellence
Ability to prepare, monitor and control budgets
Multi-tasking, planning, and organizational abilities
Ability to develop and lead employees as a cohesive team
Availability by cell phone for emergencies when necessary
Basic to intermediate computer knowledge and proficient use of software programs
Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record and be willing to drive KHS vehicles
Accept, support, and represent KHS core values, programs, policies and procedures

Physical Demands/Working Environment:
Individual will have extended periods of standing, walking and may need to bend, stoop and stretch for purposes of fixing equipment.
Includes working in an outdoor environment with exposure to environmental conditions that include working near animals.
Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, walking and standing on a regular basis while performing job functions.
Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to and exceeding 50 lbs.
