Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Facilities Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     FPS has opportunities for fire suppression and fire alarm technicians in California and Nevada.

    Summary:
    Service technicians provide advanced level support to customers through design, installation, commissioning and maintenance services.                                                                                  

    Responsibilities:
    Perform Preventative maintenance, commissioning and repairs on a variety of fire alarm or fire suppression systems including:
    • Clean Agent Fire Suppression
    • Fire Alarm and Life Safety Systems
    • UL Central Station Monitoring
    • Personnel Notification
    • Advanced Smoke Detection ASD
    • Pre-Action Sprinklers
    • Clean Agent System
    • CO2 Fire Suppression
    • Water Mist Systems
     
    Requirements:
    • High School Diploma or a General Educational Development Diploma (GED).  Two years of technical training and four years of field troubleshooting experience. 
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills to accurately describe problems and communicate with customers.  
    • Three years documented experience in low voltage Fire Suppression/Fire Alarms Systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, or Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.  
    • Experience with electrical technical products, mechanical aptitude, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and demonstrated skills to effectively diagnose and identify technical system operational issues.
