Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. The Director of Facilities will provide strategic management and leadership in the daily Wu Yee’s facility operations. This position will effectively leverage resources and ensure that Wu Yee’s practices safeguard the financial health, general wellbeing of the organization and build capacity to accomplish Wu Yee’s mission. The Director of Facilities will ensure that all Wu Yee facilities meet the environmental health and safety requirements, that they are secure, culturally responsive, and are maintained in accordance with federal and state licensing regulations. S/he will develop a recurring preventive maintenance program, assist in project management of any new development projects, and oversee the work of contractors.
The Director of Facilities will supervise facilities operation, safety and emergency programs, greening, new project development and assist the leadership team with business development and duties as required. This position will make a strategic contribution to Wu Yee
through operational enhancements that improve quality, enhance safety and lower costs while maintaining a high level of quality service delivery.
