Extrusion Operator sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. The Extrusion Operator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. GKN Aerospace is now hiring Composite Operators for multiple work shifts!
As a Composite Operator with GKN Aerospace, you will plan layouts and perform various production operations to fabricate, assemble, and develop composite parts, assemblies, and molds for the aerospace industry.
Work on self-directed teams with minimal direct supervision; follow general instructions, specifications, and operating procedures to perform manufacturing activities involved in the preparation, fabrication and assembly operations of composite parts for both production and developmental programs.

Job Responsibilities
Equipment used may include hand knife, automated power or hand cutters, injection mold presses, cranes or other lifting devices, oven operations or shop equipment such as grinders, drills, fork lift or tow motors, etc.
Will be required to inspect and certify own work to establish standards.
Maintain a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with all internal, safety, environmental, customer and government regulations.
