Exploration Manager leads and operates the organization's exploration function for a region to discover significant oil or gas deposits. Evaluates and prioritizes exploration opportunities and their value. Being an Exploration Manager ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Responsible for overseeing a staff of technical professionals. Additionally, Exploration Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Exploration Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.     The Opportunity:
    EXPLO’s on- and off-campus trips are some of the most memorable and impactful experiences that students and staff have during the Program. Trips Managers are responsible for all of the logistics and preparation that make these experiences possible. Trips Managers work in a team to plan and organize multiple off-campus field trips each weekend, trips might include visits to museums, amusement parks, kayaking, and much more. At some EXPLO Programs, Trips Managers also coordinate trips during the week in the evenings. Trips Managers assign staff to lead trips, organize trip departure and return, and maintain positive relationships with trip vendors. In addition to the primary job responsibilities, Trips Managers will also perform a variety of other tasks that contribute to the Program's success.

    Managing Student Trips:
    • Work with your Office Director and/or other members of your Office during the academic year to prepare for the summer and become familiar with weekend trips
    • Oversee all aspects of student trips during the summer, including weekend trips and evening event trips
    • Learn how to use EXPLO’s trip assignment software,assign students trips that they are interested in for each trips weekend and communicate important trips information to students throughout the summer
    • Requisition materials for and scheduling locations for on-campus student workshops
    • Collect feedback from students about trips, and developing and maintaining a system that assesses and documents the quality of student trips to inform future trips planning
    • Coordinate with external vendors, including the bus company, college dining, and event or ticket vendors, as needed
    • Train staff on how to chaperone and lead EXPLO trips to ensure students are engaged and safe

    Management Leadership:
    • Work closely with your Office Director, as well as the other Office Members, supporting them in shared responsibilities to ensure that Office and campus processes are running smoothly
    • Supervise, mentor, and train faculty who have been assigned to work in your Office and on trips
    • Supervise and support staff who are leading student trips and meeting with them to provide feedback
    • At some programs this position involves communicating with parents and other responsibilities found in the Main Office Manager description

    Campus Operations Student Life:
    • Establish systems of communication with the various offices at the program (e.g. Office of Student Life, Office of Teaching Learning), as well as the students
    • Provide a safe and fun recreational activity environment for Summer Program students by maintaining activity and office spaces and materials to appropriate standards
    • Chaperone resident Summer Program students on evening and weekend trips
    • Perform additional Summer Program duties as may be assigned to you

    About You:

    You’ve got:
    • 3 years of post-high school experience by the summer
    • Experience in trip planning, event planning, or logistics
    • Strong communication skills
    • Availability to live and work on campus for the duration of the summer program

    Ideally, you’ve also got:
    • Some experience with kids and/or adolescents
    • Experience with Excel, Airtable or similar software
    • Experience in managing a team of people
    • A valid US driver’s license and a clean driving record

    Compensation Benefits:
    This is a seven week, seasonal position. Remote training for this role may begin as early as January 2024. In person training begins in mid-June 2024. Compensation for this role starts at $6400 plus room and board. For the health and safety of our community, EXPLO requires all employees and new hires to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
