Exploration Director directs and develops an organization's oil and gas exploration projects. Analyzes and evaluates the opportunities, risk and profits for oil and gas deposits exploration. Being an Exploration Director initiates exploration plans based on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Directs geological and geophysical programs and may have oversight for land acquisition and leasing activities. Additionally, Exploration Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Exploration Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Exploration Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     EXPLO’s summer programs run this summer fromJune 30th to August 9th, 2024, with staff orientation beginning on June 22nd. 

    The Opportunity:
    Instructor Advisors make up the base of a strong EXPLO community by working closely with students in the classroom, on their residential floors, and in day groups. Instructor Advisors foster students’ curiosities by teaching workshops and electives in subjects they are excited and passionate about. They care for and supervise groups of 14-25 students outside of the classroom by living on the residential floors. Instructor Advisors will also support morning, afternoon, and evening programming to ensure all students have an unforgettable summer experience.

    Classroom Instructor Responsibilities:
    • Prepare for and teach 1-3 workshops/electives using EXPLO’s project-based and experiential curriculum (This curriculum will be shared with you as part of pre-summer coaching training)
    • Work closely with your Instructional Coach to revise lessons, incorporate feedback from classroom observations, and follow up on student performance 
    • Attend Professional Development sessions to improve  teaching skills
    • Provide a safe and effective learning environment for students 

    Student Advisor Responsibilities:
    • Work with a co-Advisor to care for and advise a group of residential or day students in personal, social, and academic matters
    • Provide a healthy, safe, and engaging living environment for students
    • Work closely with Residence Directors to discuss strategies for community building within your advising group, assess individual student progress, and incorporate feedback from observations 

    Campus Operations Student Life:
    • Lead and support recreational activities every day and every other evening
    • Chaperone students on evening and weekend trips off-campus
    • Perform operational and programmatic tasks as needed, which may include assisting with event set up, working individually and as a team to complete tasks on campus that are necessary to program function, and performing additional duties as they may be assigned to you

    About You:
    Instructor/Student Advisor:
    • A thorough understanding of the subject(s) you'd like to teach
    • College-level coursework in one or more fields related to the academics we offer
    • Availability to live and work on campus for the duration of the summer program

    Ideally, you’ve also got:
    • 2 years of post-high school experience by the summer
    • Some experience with kids and/or adolescents

    Compensation Benefits:
    This is a seven week, seasonal position. Remote training for this role may begin as early as January 2024. In person training begins in mid-June 2024. Compensation for this role starts at $4950 plus room and board.
