Exploration Director directs and develops an organization's oil and gas exploration projects. Analyzes and evaluates the opportunities, risk and profits for oil and gas deposits exploration. Being an Exploration Director initiates exploration plans based on compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Directs geological and geophysical programs and may have oversight for land acquisition and leasing activities. Additionally, Exploration Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Exploration Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Exploration Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Delta’s international headquarters is located in Bismarck, North Dakota. Currently, our dedicated team consists of almost 100 employees, of which about half work within our headquarters office and the other half work remotely throughout the US and Canada.     This position is responsible for the development and management of new and existing Delta Waterfowl chapters within a designated region. Join Delta Waterfowl Foundation in Kansas or Oklahoma as our Regional Director and be part of a dedicated team working to secure the future of duck production, habitat conservation, research as well as hunter recruitment, retention, and reactivation.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Volunteer Management: Create, maintain, and foster volunteer relationships. Establish NEW committees of volunteers (local chapters) that believe in Delta Waterfowl’s mission. Assist committees in volunteer recruitment.
    • Event Planning: Assist committees to establish fundraising goals to help maximize their net revenue and gain momentum towards achieving chapter objectives.
    • Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with local hunters, clubs, and conservation partners to foster collaboration and support for our mission.
    • Collaboration: Provide teamwork with volunteers, other Regional Directors, Development Coordinators, direct supervisors, and other Delta Staff.
    • Conservation Advocacy: Advocate for policies and practices that benefit waterfowl and their habitats throughout North America.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Passion for Waterfowl Hunting: Avid waterfowl hunter with a deep understanding and passion for waterfowl conservation.
    • Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, and three years of related sales experience; or a combination of related training, education, and experience.
    • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in motivating and managing volunteers or leading successful sales teams.
    • Organized: Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to respond to change.
    • Community Engagement: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect with hunters, partners, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
    • License: Valid driver’s license with good driving record. Must be able to travel and work evenings and weekends when needed.
