    Position Summary & Responsibilities:
    This position exists to manage and administer the Carl D. Perkins grant for secondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) in Kansas. This position also serves as the Individual Plan of Study (IPS) coordinator and provides leadership, guidance and support for districts in implementation and monitoring the IPS.

    Required Minimum Qualifications:
    Bachelor’s degree in education with emphasis in career technical education or related area. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.

    Preferred Skills and/or Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree from an accredited university or college in relevant field(s) as determined by the agency;
    • Strong analytic, organization, interpersonal and communication skills;
    • Ability to prioritize, take initiative and follow through to completion with multiple projects;
    • Ability to work and communicate with multiple agencies, constituents and stakeholder groups;
    • Willingness to travel within and outside the state of Kansas;
    • Knowledge and skills related to group dynamics and team participation and facilitation;
    • Effective teaming, interpersonal, staff development and facilitation skills;
    • Skills in report writing and communication of findings to a range of audiences;
    • Excellent public relation and communications skills;
    • Effective problem-solving, planning and decision-making skills;
    • Ability to design and implement programs and facilitate staff development; and
    • Knowledge and skills with financial literacy (budgets, financial reporting, grant management).

    Preferred Experience:

    • Three years of full-time experience in secondary and/or postsecondary education;
    • Experience with technical education, workforce development and data analysis; and
    • Experience with curriculum development.
