We are looking for our newest addition to the Cook Museum Team and it could be you!
When someone comes here for a class, camp, or presentation of any kind, our Educators become the face of the museum for these guests. It is important that these people be confident, personable, and knowledgeable. They are part of a closely knit Education Team that support one another and work very closely together.
What are we looking for?
Someone who is energetic, creative, knowledgeable about natural science, and doesn’t mind a little hard work. This person would ideally have a background in science education in an informal atmosphere and presenting material to the public, be highly organized, and have a proven history of positive leadership. Last, but certainly not least, this person is comfortable working with people and animals alike, so communication skills and flexibility are required. Schedule flexibility (up to 25 hours per week) and the willingness to work weekends and some holidays is a must.
What does a day look like in this position?

· Setting up for classes/cleaning the education areas
· Researching class material and helping to develop courses
· Teaching material/leading classes
· Caring for the animals that are in the Education Department’s care (snakes, lizards, turtles, and more)
If this sounds like something that you want to know more about, we would love to talk to you about it! Fill out an application and we will be in touch. Please make sure that you give us plenty of details about your past work experience.
