Exercise Physiologist jobs in Texas
Exercise Physiologist develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for patients. Conducts testing that assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Being an Exercise Physiologist follows testing protocols and selects appropriate testing protocol for the patient. Monitors patient during testing. Additionally, Exercise Physiologist calculates and records testing results. Coordinates with cross-functional patient care teams. May design exercise prescriptions, instructional materials, home exercise guidelines, and discharge instructions. Conducts exercise training sessions for patients. Requires a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. Typically reports to a manager. The Exercise Physiologist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. To be an Exercise Physiologist typically requires 4 -7 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

The Exercise Physiologist responsibilities include running treadmill stress tests (Balke 3.3) for our patients, as well as completing health screenings (pulmonary, body composition, and hearing), and performing exercise consultations on patients. The Exercise Physiologist will also complete prep work and closing charts for physicians in our world-class, preventive medicine clinic.Requirements
The ideal Exercise Physiologist candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four year university in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or related field is required.
- 6 months to 1 year experience reading EKGs and stress testing in a clinic setting is required.
- ACSM PT or CSCS certification is preferred.
Additionally, applicants must have exceptional customer service and communications skills with an emphasis on providing the best patient care experience. The successful candidate will be a team player as this position involves working very closely with other members of the department. Attention to detail, ability to successfully multi-task, and a professional appearance and demeanor are also required.
