Exercise Physiologist develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for patients. Conducts testing that assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Being an Exercise Physiologist follows testing protocols and selects appropriate testing protocol for the patient. Monitors patient during testing. Additionally, Exercise Physiologist calculates and records testing results. Coordinates with cross-functional patient care teams. May design exercise prescriptions, instructional materials, home exercise guidelines, and discharge instructions. Conducts exercise training sessions for patients. Requires a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. Typically reports to a manager. The Exercise Physiologist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Overview:
We are a small, compassionate, and patient driven private Cardiology office seeking a skilled and motivated Exercise Physiologist to join our team. As an Exercise Physiologist, you will be responsible for monitoring safe and appropriate Exercise and Pharmacological Stress Testing, Holter Monitor hook-up and scanning, Event Monitor hook up, and other cardiac patient related medical activities. Experience in various forms of stress testing and ECG interpretation is strongly desirable.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or related field
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Desire to educate patients regarding their cardiac related testing experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in ECG interpretation
- Willingness to assist in other areas of the office
