Exercise Physiologist develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for patients. Conducts testing that assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Being an Exercise Physiologist follows testing protocols and selects appropriate testing protocol for the patient. Monitors patient during testing. Additionally, Exercise Physiologist calculates and records testing results. Coordinates with cross-functional patient care teams. May design exercise prescriptions, instructional materials, home exercise guidelines, and discharge instructions. Conducts exercise training sessions for patients. Requires a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. Typically reports to a manager. The Exercise Physiologist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,administrative, legal, and ethical requirements / objectives of the organization.
Collaborates and evaluates Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation operation, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Assists with monitoring staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Ensures that the department operates within compliance. Coordinates internal / external audits. Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum EducationBachelor’s degree in Exercise Science RequiredMaster’s degree in Exercise Physiology preferredRequired SkillsCertifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) ACSM PreferredRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
