We are seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a fast-paced bakery environment, successful menu development, and research and development of bakery, catering, and restaurant items. The ideal candidate must have a SERV Safe certification and experience in leading a team environment.
· Collaborate closely with the Chef de Cuisine in menu planning, recipe development, and execution of culinary vision.
· Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food production, presentation, and consistency.
· Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising kitchen staff, fostering a culture of growth and development.
· Maintain inventory levels, manage food costs, and ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
· Uphold strict sanitation and safety standards in compliance with health regulations.
· Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, creativity, and a strong work ethic at all times.
· Provide guidance and support to kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and open communication.
· Assist in creating and implementing innovative seasonal menus and special event offerings.
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and execution of culinary initiatives.
· Stay abreast of industry trends, techniques, and best practices, continually seeking opportunities for improvement.
· Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume, upscale dining establishment.
· Culinary degree or equivalent culinary education preferred.
· Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
· Solid understanding of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment.
· Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
· Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
