The Area General Manager will lead the Distribution facility in the Pennsylvania area market.
Key Functions:
- Provide leadership and general management of the Easton sales and operations teams while also maintaining and growing key relationships with strategic customers and vendors
- Lead an inside and outside sales team and a site operations manager, and work very closely with a finance partner to oversee all aspects of the facility such as safety, sales, logistics, community volunteer activity, etc.
- Accountable for the successful implementation of all internal programs
- Oversee (via the site operations manager) safety, logistics, fulfillment, production planning, scheduling, and asset management
- Initiate, develop and grow superior and sustainable vendor and customer relationships (internal and external)
- The AGM will travel up to 35%, which would include "day travel" and occasional overnights
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of related industry experience (e.g. Distribution, Manufacturing, Wholesale, etc.) Wood products/Building materials
- Must live or be willing to relocate to Easton, PA metro area, and be willing to travel
- Proven team leadership ability to develop organizational capacity, coach and develop associates, successfully motivate and energize sales and operations teams, and create an inclusive culture
- Results-focused to set goals, deliver results consistently, take action to achieve targets, and overcome obstacles
- Solid business acumen and the ability to interpret and manage financial and market data, and create executable plans to manage cost and profitability
- Knowledge of operations management
- Strong customer service orientation that includes demonstrated effectiveness in providing strong customer service as an essential component of executing sales strategies, knowing when and how to gracefully say "no" and understanding/managing the impacts to the business
- Proven ability to establish credibility and trust in relationships with customers, associates and suppliers
- Excellent communication skills including information sharing, active listening, brevity and persuasiveness
- Experience and ability to develop, translate and implement strategic plans, think long-term and “big picture,” and integrate complexities in problem solving and decision making
- Strong prioritization skills, with the ability to address the critical few priorities while not losing perspective on the secondary and lower level issues
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
- Sales experience
- 5 yrs experience in people management
- Strong market and product knowledge and ability to integrate critical market intelligence (competition, trends, etc.) in order to grow the market
