    What you will be doing:

    We are looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of desserts, pastries or other confections. This individual should have a high level of skill in baking quality desserts, that should be matched with creativity and be able to develop amazing new desserts. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations. They must adhere to health and safety standards to provide clients with the best possible serving.

    The goal is to enhance customer satisfaction so that we can maintain and expand our clientele. The following specific duties are expected to be performed to support and administer this summary and may be expanded or reduced at any time.

    The Dining Room operates 3 high volume meal periods, 7 days a week from April through November. This position is seasonal.

    Responsibilities:

    • Creativity to design new and unique menu items to attract customers
    • Knowledge of how baking ingredients work together and how they can be used in creative ways
    • Create and manage dessert offerings, while keeping up with the high volume.
    • Time management skills to deliver orders on schedule and avoiding wasting food
    • Physical strength and stamina to spend long hours standing and performing repetitive motions
    • Flexibility, since hours for a Pastry Chef may vary and include weekends, evenings and holidays
    • Create and prepare all pastry items as required by the business
    • Prepare, clean and organize ingredients for use in the kitchen
    • Come up with recipe ideas from scratch
    • Plan the menu of desserts and pastry to complement savory items
    • Ensure the kitchen is clean and organized
    • Work with Restaurant Leadership team to develop future offerings and specials

    Qualifications/Skills:

    • Proven experience working as a pastry chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment
    • Degree in Pastry Arts Preferred
    • Able to follow recipes and instructions accurately
    • Good knowledge of pastry arts and ingredients
    • Confident culinary techniques and skills
    • Good sense of planning and preparation for the day ahead
    • Diligent and meticulous in making and receiving orders
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Punctual and discipline to ensure optimal work performance

    Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

    • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
    • Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time and handle continuous repetitive motions
    • Required to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend stretch and twist or reach
    • Push, pull or lift to 50 pounds
    • Work in hot, humid and noisy environments
