    The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness of the entire hotel. Ensures that the housekeeping and laundry staff are well-trained and supervised.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Oversee all areas of the housekeeping and laundry departments.
    • Ensure the cleanliness of the entire hotel.
    • Develop master cleaning schedules and administer accordingly.
    • Evaluate the staffing requirements and prepare work schedules weekly, adhering to budget goals.
    • Ensure that sufficient staffing is present to meet the daily business demands.
    • Communicate anticipated business demands daily with entire department.
    • Conduct daily line-ups.
    • Ensure staff’s knowledge of hotel services, features, and amenities.
    • Assign specific tasks to the staff as they arise.
    • Monitor and ensure that the housekeeping and laundry staff perform their job functions to the hotel’s expected level of service.
    • Assist the staff whenever necessary in performing all job functions.
    • Accommodate all guest requests in an accurate and efficient manner.
    • Coordinate all group requests and needs.
    • Prepare work orders for equipment repairs and distribute to Maintenance.
    • Ensure all supplies are ordered with accurate usage factors and are received in a timely manner.
    • Conduct monthly inventory of housekeeping and laundry supplies.
    • Ensure that all pertinent information is documented in the logbook daily.
    • Complete daily walk-throughs with the night cleaners and evaluate their work.
    • Ensure payroll is documented and submitted accurately and promptly.
    • Ensure payroll forecasts are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner.
    • Conduct performance appraisals of designated staff as required.
    • Coach and counsel staff to correct any inappropriate behavior or sub-standard performance.
    • Handle all disciplinary counseling as needed according to Inn at Perry Cabin policy.
    • Inspect grooming and attire of staff; rectify any deficiencies.
    • Conduct ongoing training with existing staff and ensure that new staff are trained as required.
    • Conduct monthly departmental meetings.
    • Enhance company EEO position by making a good faith effort to recruit, select, develop, and retain protected class employees.
    • Ensure that all unit staff attend required training in hazardous communication, safety, and sanitation as established by local and government regulations.
    • Establish and maintain quality recognition programs within the departments.
    • Interview applicants for departmental managers and any other positions as needed.
    • Mentor and train appropriate employees for the next managerial position.
    • Tour and inspect all public and guest areas several times daily.
    • Keep staff turnover to a minimum.
    • Maintain close and open communication with other departments.
    • Promote an open-door policy with all employees.
    • Assist with budget process as required by the Resort Manager.
    • Accommodate all guest requests in an accurate and efficient manner.
    • Ensure that the hotel’s Lost & Found policy is adhered to.
    • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and working condition of department equipment and supplies.
    • Interview, hire and train new staff; conduct performance appraisals of designated staff as required.
    • Attend meetings as necessary.
    • Maintain knowledge of hotel features/services, outlets, hours of operation, etc.
    • Achieve objectives through direction and delegation.
    • Practice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel/company standards; react and assist in hotel emergency situations as needed.
    • Be an ambassador of the hotel and the company at all times, in and outside of the workplace.
    • Observe standards for the department in image, appearance, and grooming; properly represent the company and the profession to outside organizations and the community.
    • Be knowledgeable of, implement, communicate, and comply with policies of Inn at Perry Cabin and its Hotel Human Resources Department.
    • Maintain confidentiality and security of all guests and general hotel information.
    • Assist in other areas as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • A college or vocational degree required, preferably in hotel management.
    • Minimum five years’ experience in the Housekeeping Department of a luxury hotel, with three years in a progressive management capacity.
    • Experience with Opera or similar Property Management System preferred.
    • Possesses strong customer service skills.
    • Possesses strong knowledge about the hotel and the services offered.
    • Possesses strong administrative and organizational skills.
