Executive Compensation Manager is responsible for the analysis and administration of executive compensation programs, annual and long-term incentive programs, and deferred compensation plans. Provide consultation on executive compensation matters to senior executives and human resources. Being an Executive Compensation Manager oversees the preparation of compensation data for proxy disclosure and compensation committee meetings. Assists executive directly or engages/manages outside consultants with tax matters related to compensation. Additionally, Executive Compensation Manager directs the salary survey process and evaluates market data for executive positions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. May require Certified Compensation Professional. The Executive Compensation Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     The Job

    Responsible for the strategy and direction of compensation philosophy, policies and practices across the organization to ensure alignment with the overall mission, strategy and desired results. Designs, implements, and administers strategically-focused compensation programs for officers and key executives.  Serves as the principal compensation partner for SCAN’s HR team, partnering with leadership to align compensation programs with the business strategy.

     

    You Will

    Oversee development of a compensation philosophy strategy by researching best practices and trends and perform analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and present findings and creative solutions to management.

    Work with senior management to develop and administer pay programs designed exclusively for executives, such as short- and long-term incentives, and supplemental executive benefit and perquisite programs. 

    Lead the annual compensation planning cycles, providing expert guidance on the design, development and administration executive, corporate, and field compensation programs, salary structures, base salary adjustments and incentives.

    Oversee the annual compensation budgeting process, managing bonus programs, pay adjustment cycles, and market data ensuring strong governance.

    Provide strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of compensation, health and retirement benefit programs and leave administration so that they align with the company’s strategic vision and objectives.

    Continually analyze company compensation policies in relation to similar jobs in comparable industries or geographical areas/market conditions; recommend best practices and, as agreed, oversee implementation of changes appropriate to establish and maintain competitive pay rates and equity.

    Actively participate in business planning activities, recommending approaches to job and compensation design. 

    Conduct total reward integration work.

    Actively support the achievement of SCAN’s Vision and Goals.

    Other duties as assigned.

     

    Your Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources preferred.
    • 8 years of progressively responsible compensation experience including administration of executive compensation programs.
    • Experience in the health plan or health services industry is preferred.
    • Demonstrated leadership, development and managerial skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational skills; Ability to multitask.
    • Ability to appropriately maintain confidentiality.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, required.
