Ethics & Compliance Training Manager plans and manages the organization's ethics and compliance training programs. Conducts needs analyses and designs training and development programs. Being an Ethics & Compliance Training Manager interfaces with functional groups outside the ethics and compliance office to ensure curriculum content and methods meet legal, regulatory, and corporate objectives. Keeps abreast of pending regulatory developments, such as Sarbanes Oxley, through reference sources and interacts with appropriate members of management to obtain insight and ensure training programs meet legislative agendas, at both the Federal and State levels. Additionally, Ethics & Compliance Training Manager oversees the purchase of all training modules and interfaces with outside vendors and contractors. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Ethics & Compliance Training Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be an Ethics & Compliance Training Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     About the Team
    The Ethics Office was established at ByteDance in 2017, with the goal of instituting and maintaining high ethical standards and a culture of integrity. The team achieves this goal through 4 main pillars - 1) develop an overarching ethical governance program, 2) implement and maintain ethics policies and processes, 3) provide education and awareness to employees via communications and training, and 4) ensure a highly ethical culture by encouraging employees to speak up and investigate potential misconduct.

    Position Summary:
    We are looking for an individual with a Legal, Ethics, or Compliance background to support our employees in AMS region. The new hire will assist with Ethics Office initiatives, including project management, drafting and reviewing policies, assessing training needs, developing and presenting trainings, handling concerns related to conflicts of interest, and conducting some investigations. Additionally, in partnership with Employment Legal, HR, and Employee Relations, you will provide guidance for the disciplinary processes, so having knowledge and prior experience with employment law would be beneficial.

    This role will report to the AMS Ethics Office regional leader and:
    • Project Management: Lead ethics project management efforts, collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of ethics initiatives.
    • Investigations: Partner with Employment Legal, HR, Employee Relations, and the business to conduct thorough and fair investigations into ethical concerns.
    • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and mitigate employment risks using quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
    • Ethics Hotline: Monitor and maintain the company's ethics hotline, providing a confidential platform for reporting ethical concerns.
    • Training and Education: Prepare and conduct ethics and workplace matters training sessions to raise awareness and knowledge among employees.
    • Outreach Initiatives: Conduct ethics awareness and outreach initiatives to engage stakeholders and business teams in ethical practices.
    • Policy Implementation: Draft and implement ethics and compliance policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to ethical standards.
    • Experience: Ethics & Compliance experience, preferably from a global company in Technology, Media, or Entertainment industries.
    • Proactive Approach: Enthusiasm to develop the internal framework and proactively contribute to building the Ethics Office functionality in the AMS region.
    • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong communicator and influencer with the ability to work effectively across functions and international teams.
    • Action-Oriented: Must be hands-on with a bias for action and flexibility to adapt to the rapidly growing company's needs.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Legal Background: A law degree from an accredited university.
    • Relationship Management: Experience in managing relationships in a cross-functional environment across global teams.
