Position Description
Report To:Pre-Construction Manager
General Summary:
The Estimator is responsible to actively engage in the pursuit and production of quality jobs to bid, to timely respond to requests for bids on commercial and industrial projects, both private and public, and to secure contract jobs that will contribute to the profitability of the Company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Accurately and successfully bid and secure profitable jobs
· Develop return customers and respond to their needs; timely follow-up on callback work
· Timely returns calls to prospective customers and aggressively pursue viable leads
· Work with Project Administrator to set up job files and cost codes for assigned projects
· Responsible for contract administration of all projects as assigned; i.e., NOC, signed contract, notice to customer, job packet, change orders, changed conditions, and construction schedule coordination
· Work with design professionals in developing plans and specs for design-build projects. Draw plans in-house when appropriate
· Responsible for project buyouts and continuous cost analysis of each project; regularly review with Manager
· Attend all other relevant meetings/events for assigned projects, including but not limited to pre-bid and pre-construction meetings
· Attend all scheduled company meetings/ functions, including those conducted in the evening and/or on weekends
· Maintain files of outstanding quotes
· Always present yourself as a professional and in a manner that enhances the reputation of of the company
· Ensure that the Owner and project supervisory personnel can reach you at any time, and office staff can reach you during business hours
· Affiliate with and regularly attend meetings of an industry-related association
· Develop and present to the Vice President at your annual review a plan for your professional growth and development, including professional goals for the coming year
· Other duties as assigned
