Estimator - Materials jobs in Kansas
Estimator - Materials analyzes job requirements and project proposals to estimate amounts and types of raw materials required to complete tasks. Researches and evaluates suppliers to ensure the availability of materials and confirm that materials meet the organization's standards of price and quality. Being an Estimator - Materials may need the ability to use CAD software and interpret technical documents such as blueprints or mechanical drawings. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Estimator - Materials typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Estimator - Materials occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. POSITION DESCRIPTION
SPEC Building Materials Corporation is recognized as one of the nation’s leading wholesale distributors of the highest quality building materials, equipment and products for both commercial and residential roofing contractors. Since 1973, SPEC has strategically grown to thirty-six convenient branch locations in markets throughout the Midwest, the South and Southeastern regions.
Warehouse Material Handlers work with, and are familiar with, the entire SPEC product line. They are responsible for inventory control, loading and unloading trucks, picking and staging materials, and assisting our customers with their orders.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pulling orders for customer pick up and deliveries
- Receiving inbound freight from venders
- Loading outbound freight on our vehicles
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Rotating inventory and cycle counting
- Maintain and operate a forklift to OSHA standards
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- One to two years of building materials history
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic fork lift skills
- Able to lift 80 lbs. repeatedly
- Basic reading and math skills
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment testing
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required
