Position: Estimator
Reports to: Estimating Manager
Location: Columbus, OH
Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 per year

The Superior Group is seeking an Estimator who will be responsible for interpreting drawings, reading specifications and do takeoff on certain items.  The ideal candidate must have the willingness to learn new technology and estimating software, have strong technical and communication skills, and work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Reading and understanding of contract drawings and project specifications
• Produce quantity takeoff of systems from electrical drawings, including lighting fixtures, lighting controls, fire alarm devices, and several other systems
• Assist in vendor management and QA estimates
• Coordinate and support internal teams to ensure alignment of scope
• Visit our various construction job sites to assist with field investigations, drawing verification, and understanding practical field installation requirements
• Works closely with the project management team on change order pricing

Your Expertise

• Required: You have 1-5 years of experience in the construction industry
• Bonus Points: If you have earned an associates or bachelors degree in construction management or a related field
• Bonus Points: If you have experience in electrical construction
• Bonus Points: If you have experience using Accubid and/or Bluebeam

• You have a an analytical mindset and understand how to problem solve

• You’re able to exercise confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information
