Job Summary Responsible for the materials management function relating to the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials and products to meet Company objective and customer requirements. This involves the responsibility of directing and administering the Purchasing of raw material components, Planning and Shipping / Warehouse departments. Essential Functions Schedule manufacturing to meet customer requirements by using the Sales Plan/Logility Forecast while maintaining raw materials and finished goods at the lowest possible inventory levels. By using the Sales Plan/Logility Forecast, create various reports to aid in the procurement of raw materials (resins, concentrates, packaging, WIP boards), man-hours and machine/mold capacities to manufacture product needed for customer requirements. Maintain sufficient raw material inventories in-house to manufacture product suggested in the Sales Plan/Logility Forecasts. Coordinate directly with suppliers on resin delivers of railcars or flow trucks and concentrates to ensure on time deliveries. Establish min/max inventory levels of all raw materials. Responsible to ensure finished goods inventory levels of product is manufactured to cover the Locked and Max levels forecasted in Logility. Work with S&OP Manager and or DRP/Inventory Specialist to ensure inventory of product is moved within the company (plant transfers). Monitor customer required min/max levels using the monthly Logility forecast and manufacturing capacities. Ensure Consumer Goods products (WIP boards) are meeting the agreed upon lead times defined by De Soto to avoid unexpected machine downtime that could affect customer ship dates. Work daily with the Shipping/Warehouse Supervisor to coordinate ship dates to customers and/or outside storage. Report weekly warehouse space capacity. Work with Shipping / Warehouse Supervisor to ensure space is being utilized and reported correctly. Work closely with manufacturing and technical personnel regarding mold repairs, machine maintenance (scheduled and non-scheduled) to ensure that customer requirements are not jeopardized. Monitor / issue raw material part numbering system and their components needed to set up BOM’s and Packaging specification to produce items. Responsible for the direct supervision and development of the Planning Administrator and Warehouse Supervisor. Direct them in their decision making that will benefit the company and meet customer requirements. Work closely with all department managers to ensure customer requirements as well as company objectives are met. Adheres to and complies to all General Manufacturing practices (GMP). Job Qualifications Undergraduate degree in Inventory Management or closely related program. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in inventory control and 2 years supervisory experience. A comparable level of education and/or experience is acceptable. Apics CPIM certification preferred. Ability to read, learn, understand, and consistently apply all policies, procedures including safety. Ability to see, read, distinguish letters and symbols. Ability to communicate effectively and possess good inter-personal skills. Ability to effectively supervise the work of others. Oracle Cloud Experience specific to the Plan to Produce functionality preferred. Must be able to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, recommendations and plans of action. Demonstrated experience in modeling data to derive at a constrained, level loaded, supply plan based on demand requirements and manufacturing constraints. Collaborate with S&OP Manager to establish statistically relevant inventory targets based on run frequencies, demand, and targeted service levels. Possess a basic understanding of word processing and spreadsheet applications Microsoft Office (Word/Excel), advanced skills using Microsoft 365 suite preferred with Business Analytics and Data Science skills desired. Requires moderate sitting (50%) and walking/standing (50%). Requires full range of body motion such as twisting, bending, climbing, reaching at / above/below shoulders, and lifting to 10lbs. Required safety equipment: hair/beard net, safety glasses and earplugs. It is possible the incumbent will be required to travel to other Huhtamaki facilities, seminars, vendors, etc by both ground and air transportation. Visual requirements include near/far acuity. Environment Will work in an office/manufacturing environment. Individual will work on average 40 hrs./week.
