Estimator - Materials analyzes job requirements and project proposals to estimate amounts and types of raw materials required to complete tasks. Researches and evaluates suppliers to ensure the availability of materials and confirm that materials meet the organization's standards of price and quality. Being an Estimator - Materials may need the ability to use CAD software and interpret technical documents such as blueprints or mechanical drawings. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Estimator - Materials typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Estimator - Materials occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. - Ability to maintain equipment and follow all safety rules and practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including conflict resolution
- Ability to create and maintain accurate and confidential records
- Ability to physically lift up to 50 lbs. to shoulder height and agility on a construction site
- Strong computer literacy with math and science skillsThis position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects and gain valuable experience in the construction industry. Geocon Engineering and Materials Testing, Inc. offers an excellent compensation and benefit program.
