Estimator - Cost jobs in Taylor, MI

Prepare cost estimates/quotes and follows up on projects as required.

Outlined below, though employee may be required to perform additional tasks from time to time:

• Prepare quotes by gathering necessary RFQ information, plant quote feedback, supplier proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Identify manufacturing processes, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents. Complete Cost Breakdown Sheets.
• Able to manipulate CAD files (STP, etc.), cut sections, create overlay comparisons w/ SolidWorks or other CAD program
• Follow up with supplier quotations.
• Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and process time requirements.
• Resolve discrepancies and prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Improve/streamline current quoting system to allow for quicker/efficient turnaround.
• Maintain technical knowledge from past experience and continue to learn by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, and with specialized suppliers.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Project Management
· Follow up on new projects

· Review technical details/obtain spec descriptions

· Maintain project timeline and determine/report on project status

· Coordinate activities to ensure timely delivery of all requirements/deliverables

· Support customer meetings as required

· Maintain Open Issues and key project timelines

· Find solutions to ongoing issues

· Manufacturing experience with aluminum extrusion, metal forming, CNC machining, assembly, automation, tooling, and fixture is highly desirable.
