Being a Estimator - Cost uses benchmark data, trends, prior estimates, and historical pricing schedules to generate detailed cost estimates that consist of itemized lists of expenses, labor hours, material quantities, and potential cost variations. Depending on the complexity and type of project, may use different estimating methods, mathematical models, or specialized estimating software tools to generate estimates. Additionally, Estimator - Cost provides guidance and training on estimating best practices. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. *This is an On-Site position in the Sharpsburg, PA area*
Description:
· Review construction contract drawings and specifications, perform material takeoffs and generate project estimates utilizing estimating software programs.
· Prepare customer quotes as directed by the Inside Sales group.
· Maintain material cost and test report databases from material suppliers.
· Solicit outside quotes for materials and/or fabricated materials.
· Maintain quote log.
· Work closely with PM to support engineering and sales team to get estimates done in a timely fashion

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience in estimating in the construction industry. Custom fabrication estimating preferred with emphasis on building envelope systems.
· Excellent math skills.
· Excellent skills using Microsoft Office Word and Excel software programs.
· Ability to read and understand contract document drawings and specifications.
· Ability to perform material takeoffs using scaled drawings, PDFs, and Bluebeam.
· Good organizational and communication skills.
· Ability read Engineering drawings (AutoCAD)
· Industrial and/or commercial experience
