Foundation Defense Services, Incorporated (FDS) is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Cost Estimator providing support to the Program Executive Office (PEO), Aviation. As a Cost Estimator, you will work with a team of experienced professionals to provide the DoD customer with cost estimates, cost analysis, and total costs of projects associated within the PEO, Aviation program office. Cost Estimator responsibilities for this position include:

• Provide advice and technical assistance to functional specialists in identifying and evaluating program cost factors and cost impact on program alternatives.
• Refine and adjust cost models in response to changes in technical specifications, support requirements, design alternatives, engineering, and operational trade-off proposals.
• Develop life cycle cost estimates to determine the total cost of the program.
• Analyze mission requirements to determine cost parameters, specific cost factors and relationships to be utilized in constructing cost models.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Experience working within a DoD Program Office
• Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline with at least 5 years of experience
• Candidate’s must have demonstrated experience in life cycle cost analysis, cost estimating development, cost risk analysis, cost-benefit analysis, financial management, and analyzing and preparing budget submissions and documentation
• Experience using Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT) is highly desired
• Knowledge of applicable applications and processes, such as Project Recon and Windchill, used in Acquisition Management is preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
• The ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Applicants should have a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products and SharePoint
