Estimating Manager manages the estimating function and develops standards, procedures, tools, and methodologies to produce cost estimates for technical projects based on work scope, specifications, and proposal or contract requirements. Establishes processes to perform analysis of project requirements, plans, and specifications to identify labor, material, equipment, and service requirements. Being an Estimating Manager incorporates benchmark data, trends, and historical pricing to generate detailed cost estimates that consist of itemized lists of expenses, labor hours, material quantities, and potential cost variations. Implements a workflow and system for scheduling and processing estimate requests and communicating with stakeholders. Additionally, Estimating Manager depending on the complexity and type of project, may use different estimating methods, mathematical models, or specialized estimating software tools to generate estimates. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Estimating Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Estimating Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Job Summary:
We are seeking an Estimator Coordinator to join our team. The Estimator Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the estimating department in preparing accurate and timely project bids. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
Responsibilities:
Assist estimators with bidding support including:
o Preparing bidding documents
o Reviewing and understanding bid requirements
o Ordering bid bonds
o Work with GC/owner on insurance requirements
o Coordinate bid deliveries
o Solicitation of subcontractors
o Understanding DBE requirements of the project
o Order Payment and Performance Bonds
o Execution and Review of Contracts
· Complete Prequalification packages from owners/General Contractors
· Assist Contract Administration during estimating slow periods
o Prepare Subcontracts
o Prepare owner required paperwork
Requirements:
- Proven experience in construction estimating or project management
- IDOT Experience required
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project documents
- Excellent communication abilities
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Knowledge of contract terms and construction build processes
