A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MILLWORK ESTIMATING MANAGER

As a Millwork Estimating Manager, you keep your department running smoothly and strategically balance the costs and profits of our projects. You help our company retain a steady stream of business by diligently reviewing and updating our bid tracking system, maintaining accurate bid schedules, and actively searching for new jobs. Always looking to improve, you review bid results, delivery costs, and our approach to the bidding and printing processes, and you brainstorm ideas for refining our methods. You maintain and grow positive relationships with both vendors and general contractors, building strong, beneficial ties for our company.

To keep our department organized, you maintain the HR schedule, regularly update software, and strategize ways to improve our file and information storage. You also maintain our library's information concerning material costing and construction techniques as well as oversee the status and growth of your department's employees. As needed, you address the HR and personal needs of your team, ensuring your team members are properly trained and set up to succeed. You take great pride in effectively managing your team and strengthening your department!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MILLWORK ESTIMATING MANAGER

• Experience using software such as Bluebeam and ProjectPAK
• Proficiency with Office Suite and Adobe programs
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, documents, and specifications
• Ability to pass yearly Amazon Web Services (AWS) tests
