Estate Planning Director jobs in Ohio

Estate Planning Director directs all aspects of the estate planning function including sales, staffing, and supervision. Participates in training and estate planning workshops. Being an Estate Planning Director ensures that the agency stays abreast of regulatory guidelines and new trends in the field. Researches and advises on tax, technical, and legal questions. Additionally, Estate Planning Director introduces new life products to the field and contributes to design of related software and tools. May be a speaker at insurance conferences or meetings. Requires a bachelor's degree of business, marketing, or mathematics. Typically reports to top management. May require Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU). The Estate Planning Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Estate Planning Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     • Five years experience in Higher Education planned giving field.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Knowledge of tax laws and liability.
    • A record of progressive leadership and achievement in Gift and Estate Planning or relevant field.
    • Demonstrated success in multiple facets of fundraising, with emphasis on cultivation, solicitation, gift closure, donor stewardship, and proposal writing in the gift and estate planning area.
    • Proven ability to develop and execute a strategic plan, analyze and prepare data, and develop and deliver presentations.
    • Demonstrated understanding of ethics related to development activities; ability to exercise discretion in interactions with donors and prospects.
    • Ability to articulate the University’s vision, mission, needs, opportunities and aspirations with clarity and enthusiasm.
    • Demonstrated excellent oral, written, organizational and computer proficiency skills.
    • Ability to travel off campus and maintain a flexible schedule.
