Equipment Validation Technician - Plymouth, Michigan

We are looking for a Equipment Validation Technician who is responsible for performing the checkout, startup, and commissioning of industrial test stands and dynamometers and ensure machines are calibrated and fully functional through customer acceptance.
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Perform functional checkout and performance verification of equipment
- Inspect & test all machine subsystems
- Troubleshoot electro-mechanical, instrumentation and data acquisition systems
- Perform equipment calibration to ISO 17025 standards
- Proper documentation in startup workbook.
- Perform checkout on customer equipment upgrades.
- Update & Test control systems (ProLINK)
- Demonstrate machine operation to customer at pre-acceptance.
Qualifications:
- 2-year degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Electronics, or equivalent related work experience
- 2 years of experience commissioning and repairing industrial machines
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical and hydraulic & pneumatic schematics
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills with an emphasis on root cause analysis
- Moderate level of soldering and de-soldering skills
- Experience with writing or de-bugging existing software script style languages (a plus)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Functional knowledge of electrical and electronic principals
- Fundamental knowledge of relay logic, PLC control, various feedback sensors and transducers, AC and DC motor and drive controllers, pneumatic & hydraulic components, closed loop PID controls, and various electro-mechanical devices
- Strong mechanical aptitude - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Computers and electronics - Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
- Engineering and technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
- Troubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
- Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Physical Requirements:
- This position is located in a manufacturing environment, and will involve hands-on work with tools and testing equipment. Physical activity may include lifting (up to 50lbs.), bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity or standing for long periods of time.

- Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
