Equipment Engineering Manager manages equipment engineering activities within an organization. Implements and maintains policies and procedures for designing, developing and implementing equipment. Being an Equipment Engineering Manager ensures all equipment engineering projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies and objectives. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Equipment Engineering Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Equipment Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Essential Duties & Responsibilities

     

    • Apply high-level structural and civil engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various infrastructure project phases involving more complex building, infrastructure, and transportation engineering work including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction, and operation

    • Perform Structural / Bridge analysis and calculations
    • Prepare Structural / Bridge engineering plans, specs, estimates, and other supporting documents
    • Perform conceptual engineering studies
    • Provide preliminary engineering and final design
    • Mentor and develop less experienced staff
    • Report preparation
    • Cost estimating
    • Agency coordination
    • Construction observation/contractor coordination
    • Other miscellaneous duties as necessary 

    Required Credentials

    • Bachelors degree in structural or civil engineering/ closely related field. 
    • 10 plus years of Civil Engineering work-related experience in Bridge Design. 
    • Steel Girder Design
    • BGS, PG super, RISA, Bridge Leap, MicroStation software knowledge
    • Professional Engineer Licensure
    • highly proficient with structural engineering principles, practices, process, and design build.
