    Job Responsibilities/Duties:

    Under the direction of the Manager of Operations, the Engineering Manager oversees engineering functions to prepare accurate and timely repair specifications for repairing equipment, in accordance with company policies and procedures. This position will also work closely with customers & upper management.

    · Act as a primary technical lead for engineering department, field service personnel, shop personnel, customers, vendor, and other departments to address and resolve inquiries and problems, and/or special conditions.

    · Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise engineering function to ensure the preparation of accurate and timely repair specifications for repairing equipment while meeting company profit margin guidelines.

    · Ensure the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the organization’s standards for quality, quantity, and safety, consistent with the organization’s principles.

    · Review all ASME Code and nuclear safety related engineering documents as required by the Nuclear Quality Assurance Manual.

    · Perform root cause analysis and warranty reports when required.

    · Analyze and reduce engineering costs.

    · Ensure engineering drawings are controlled and released properly.

    · Develop & Implement RER engineering standards.

    · Recommend the most cost effective and efficient methods and options for repairs.

    · Prepare drawings and written specifications for machining department and outside vendors for making or repairing parts.

    · Contact outside vendors and coordinate the making or repair of parts, ensuring the most cost-effective pricing while meeting specifications.

    · Support sales team on an as needed basis as requested by sales manager and/or sales representatives.

    · Perform annual performance evaluations.

    · Make recommendations for the hiring, termination, and career development of employees within the department.

    · Complete special projects as assigned, maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.

    · Be accessible to staff and customers during regular business hours and after hours (i.e., email accessibility on mobile devices). May require additional hours on short notice.

    · Be respectful to co-workers and be part of an environment that fosters teamwork.

    · Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.

    · Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

    Qualifications/Skills:

    · Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering with over five years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.

    · Previous management experience of at least 3 years is required. A solid manager of people, with a track record of working and promoting a team-oriented environment.

    · The ability to perform as a Certifying Engineer as required by ASME Section III, Appendix XXIII is preferred. ASME code experience is preferred.

    · Communicates effectively on both a technical and non-technical level with executives, members of other departments, suppliers & customers.

    · Capable of building and maintaining solid, positive relationships with the management team & customers

    · Solid presentation skills in both speaking and writing. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

    · Proven conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Flexible with a capacity for teamwork.

    · Applies influence, strategies, and negotiation skills to identify options and recommend solutions to customers, engineers and production team.

    · Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, blueprints, customer specifications and governmental regulations.

    · Able to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

    · Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.

    · Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

    · Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    · Able to use Microsoft Office products, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD LT software.

    Pay: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
