Equipment Engineer designs, develops, evaluates, and deploys manufacturing equipment, devices, and systems. Develops electrical control devices to convey materials and products throughout the manufacturing process. Being a Equipment Engineer integrates devices and instruments into the systems that measure and control environmental or material variations occurring during the manufacturing process. Ensures equipment and processes maintain throughput, yield, safety, and reliability objectives. Additionally, Equipment Engineer maintains an up-to-date knowledge of equipment vendors' changes, upgrades, and innovations. Prepares preventive maintenance plans and procedures for all equipment and provides technical support during maintenance or turnaround processes. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Equipment Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     About the Position:
    The Automation Equipment Engineer will lead in the development and implementation of manufacturing process with a focus on automated and manual sheet metal fabrication. Plan and improve production methods. Participate as a member of the engineering team capable of carrying out needed engineering initiatives, with emphasis on processes, supporting product design, planning and coordinating projects, and sustaining engineering.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    Other duties, responsibilities, and activities for the Automated Equipment Engineer may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
    • Implementation and testing of automation equipment and processes Designing and testing automation equipment and processes
    • Programming new automated components
    • Writes reports to document problems, solutions, actions, and communication findings Eliminating defects and errors with product and software development
    • Continuous improvement focused on improving machine utilization and achieving delivery targets
    • Utilize CAD software and simulation tools for sheet metal design and optimization
    • Maintain, debug, repair, troubleshoot and root cause analysis of equipment on a regular basis
    Automated Equipment Engineer Position Requirements:

    • Proficiency in maintaining automation equipment
    • Experience with robotics, AI and machine learning, and PLC programming

    • Formal Lean Six Sigma Certification
    Physical Demands
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
